Jason Tregoe Newman is an Emmy Award-winning music editor, engineer, composer, producer, and the founder of bi-coastal music editorial companies JTN Music and Tregoe Enterprises Inc. Renowned for his versatility, Jason has contributed to a wide range of acclaimed projects, including Breaking Bad, Arrested Development, Cosmos, Veep, Ozark, The Good Place, and Brooklyn Nine-Nine. His recent work includes The Sympathizer, Lucy & Desi, and Beef.
Jason’s journey began in Boston, Massachusetts, where he earned a dual degree in Film Scoring and Music Business from Berklee College of Music, graduating Magna Cum Laude. He then moved to New York City to work as a staff recording and mixing engineer at the renowned jingle house North Forty Music. Quickly gaining recognition, he was soon presented with the opportunity to transition from commercials to TV and film work in Los Angeles.
Since relocating to LA in 2002, Jason has built JTN Music into an award-winning music editorial powerhouse, known for its exceptional quality and collaborative spirit. Over the course of his career, he has received Emmys and Golden Reel Awards, with over 20 nominations for outstanding music editorial. His recent honors include a 2024 Golden Reel nomination for Outstanding Achievement in Music Editing for Beef, as well as 2022 Emmy nominations for Better Call Saul and Lucy & Desi.
In recent years, Jason has carved out a niche in guiding recording artists into the world of TV and Film, collaborating with them to tell powerful stories through music.
