Jason Tregoe Newman is an Emmy Award-winning music editor, engineer, composer, producer, and the founder of JTN Music. Known for his versatility and precision, Jason has contributed to a wide range of acclaimed projects including Breaking Bad, Arrested Development, Cosmos, Veep, Ozark, The Good Place, and Brooklyn Nine-Nine. His recent work includes Black Rabbit and Pluribus.
A Boston native and Berklee College of Music graduate (Film Scoring and Music Business, magna cum laude), Jason began his career in New York City as a staff engineer at North Forty Music, transitioning from commercial work into television and film. His move to Los Angeles in 2002 marked the beginning of a decades-long career shaping music editorial into an art form.
Under Jason’s leadership, JTN Music has grown into an award-winning, internationally recognized post-music company with teams across Los Angeles, New York, London, and Canada. The company’s expansion into Canada and London reflects Jason’s continued vision of bringing Hollywood-level music editorial and supervision to productions worldwide, uniting creative excellence, technical precision, and local expertise under one banner.
Over his career, Jason has received multiple Emmy and Golden Reel Awards, along with more than twenty nominations for outstanding music editorial. His recent honors include a 2024 Outstanding Achievement in Music Editing nomination for Beef, and 2022 Emmy nominations for Better Call Saul and Lucy and Desi.
