To say Jon Persitz comes from a musical family is an understatement. He’s the first American-born generation of a family of Russian classical musicians and began studying piano at an early age under his mother, Julia - a concert violinist.

Though surrounded by music from birth, it wasn’t until his mother brought him to a commercial recording session that Jon’s interest in sound for film and TV was truly sparked. He went on to study piano performance at the University of Minnesota, but - ironically for a Russian - couldn’t stand the cold and moved to Los Angeles just three days after graduating.

Since then, Jon’s compositions have been featured across TV, film, radio, and commercials, with over 1,000 published works to date.

His curiosity about the business side of scoring, sound mixing, and editing came full circle when he joined JTN Music. Starting as a studio assistant, Jon learned the company from the ground up. Over time, his passion shifted toward the inner workings of the industry.

As COO at JTN Music, Jon focuses on leading and supporting the team, streamlining workflows, and continuously finding ways to strengthen the company from the inside out. He’s passionate about collaboration and connecting with other teams to build solutions that foster creative, musically strong, and efficient operations.

With the launch of JTN Music Canada in 2025, Jon is also stepping into the role of Vice President, heading up the company’s expansion into music supervision, sync, and original composition. He’s thrilled for this new chapter, extending JTN’s award-winning approach and collaborative spirit into the Canadian creative landscape.
